Agroturismo La Gayría is a rural estate in Tiscamanita, in the municipality of Tuineje, in the centre of the island of Fuerteventura. In the eighteenth century the estate was a stone manor house built around a central courtyard sheltered from the wind, and today that courtyard serves as an open-air museum of old farm tools and implements. The grounds hold fruit trees, olive trees, vines and aromatic and native Canarian plants, look out towards the Gayría volcano and include an organic farming operation.
Guests stay in rural cottages set around the courtyard and can join in the daily farm work, look after the hens, geese and donkeys or pick fruit. The estate offers horse and donkey rides on the Majorero donkey, a breed the family has helped to recover together with the Asociación Burro Majorero, as well as traditional barbecues, olive oil workshops and wine tastings.
