Alpacas de la Tierruca is a textile livestock farm breeding Huacaya alpacas in Llanos, in the municipality of Penagos (Cantabria). It is run by Pili and Paco, a couple who swapped the city for the countryside and who process their animals' fibre themselves, from shearing to yarn and woven cloth, reviving the old craft of weaving and working with local artisans. The farm holds the Calidad Rural Valles Pasiegos quality mark.
The farm runs tours for families and groups in which the breeders explain how alpacas live and what they eat; visitors can feed, touch and photograph them, and the farm's artisan explains the textile process. It also holds classes and workshops on spinning, loom weaving and natural fibres. It sells raw shorn fibre, alpaca yarn, felts and garments, as well as breeding animals and stud services.
