A Sustainable Oasis: Discover the Wonders of Amberly Farm
Nestled in the Picturesque Bullen Range
Amberly Farm is a true gem, situated against the stunning backdrop of the Bullen Range in the heart of Canberra, Australia. This family-owned and operated farm is more than just a place of production - it's a testament to the power of regenerative agriculture and a commitment to leaving the land better than they found it.
A Legacy of Sustainability
John and Carol Lilleyman purchased Amberly Farm in 2012, embarking on a journey of learning, innovation, and environmental stewardship. With no prior farming experience, they quickly immersed themselves in the principles of regenerative agriculture, determined to create a thriving, sustainable ecosystem.
Pasture-Raised Goodness
At the core of Amberly Farm's ethos are their pastured free-range eggs. The Lilleyman's hens roam freely over more than 100 acres of lush, chemical-free pastures, protected by a dedicated team of Maremma guardian dogs. This rotational grazing system not only allows the hens to exhibit their natural behaviors, but also enriches the soil and promotes biodiversity.
Nourishing the Community
Beyond their renowned eggs, Amberly Farm offers a diverse range of products, including 100% grass-fed Black Angus beef, nutrient-dense microgreens and herbs, and the beloved Ma's Pantry range - a collection of homemade jams, chutneys, and preserves crafted by the Lilleyman matriarch, Carol.
The Amberly Micro-Market
In 2024, the Lilleyman siblings - Elise, Adam, and Guy - came together to create the Amberly Micro-Market, a self-serve farm-gate experience open 365 days a year. Here, visitors can explore a curated selection of locally sourced produce, artisanal goods, and, of course, Amberly Farm's own exceptional offerings.
Connecting with the Land
Amberly Farm's commitment to sustainability extends beyond their farming practices. They have planted over 2,500 trees on-site with the help of Greening Australia and the National Resources Management (NRM), and have added more than 560 tons of organic fertilizer to the soil each year through their rotational grazing system.
Honoring the Ngunnawal People
The Lilleymans recognize and pay respect to the Ngunnawal people, the traditional custodians of the ACT. They honor the Ngunnawal's enduring bond with the land and their invaluable contribution to its preservation for countless generations.
