Llavandera Suffolks

Welcome to Llavandera Suffolks

A tradition of excellence since 1976

Llavandera Suffolks is a family farm with over 40 years of experience in the selective breeding of Suffolk sheep in Asturias, Spain. Our goal is to produce animals of the highest genetic and morphological quality, following the standards of the English-type Suffolk breed.

Our history

Our history dates back to 1976, when our founders, Nacho and Vicente, began importing the first Suffolk sheep from Belgium and the Netherlands. Since then, we have worked tirelessly to improve the quality of our flock, incorporating the best genetic lines from the leading European breeders.

Elite genetics

Today, Llavandera Suffolks has a flock of over 100 sheep and rams of exceptional quality. Our animals stand out for their large size, excellent conformation, and racial purity. We have made significant investments to acquire breeding stock from the most prestigious lines, such as Cairness, Strathisla, Solwaybank, and Burnview, among others.

Commitment to sustainability

In addition to genetic improvement, at Llavandera Suffolks we are concerned about animal welfare and the sustainability of our practices. Our flock is kept free of diseases such as Maedi-Visna and Scrapie, and we apply environmentally friendly methods in all our activities.

Activities and services

On our farm, we offer a wide range of activities and services for visitors and clients:

  • Guided tours of the flock to get up close with our animals
  • Sale of high-quality breeding stock and lambs
  • Artificial insemination service with semen from our elite rams
  • Organization of events and workshops on Suffolk sheep breeding
