Quesu de Porrúa: The essence of Asturias in every bite

History and tradition in every piece

The Quesu de Porrúa is the gastronomic treasure of this small livestock village in the municipality of Llanes, in Asturias. Its origins date back to past generations, when the women of Porrúa traveled to nearby markets with their baskets filled with this precious handmade cheese.

Today, this cheese-making tradition remains alive thanks to the constant and artisanal work of our family. We are a family-run cheese factory that puts great care and attention into the manual production of our cheeses, following recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Crafted with the finest raw materials

Our cheeses are characterized by the heritage of an ancestral custom. We use a carefully selected and pasteurized blend of cow, goat, and sheep milk to achieve a product of great quality and refined freshness.

The production process is completely artisanal, from milking to aging. Our master cheesemakers follow the steps of the traditional recipe to the letter, without haste, so that each piece develops its full potential in flavor and texture.

Flavor and tradition in every bite

The Quesu de Porrúa is a cured cheese with a minimum maturation of three months. During this time, it acquires an exquisite aromatic profile and a semi-fatty and creamy texture that captivates all palates.

Its intense aromas and delicious flavor, with notes of dairy and Asturian pastures, make this cheese a true delight. It is ideal to accompany fresh dishes, cheese boards, and even as a dessert, paired with a good white wine.
