The history of Quesería Ovín dates back to the 1990s, when three young food technicians, Joaquín Sánchez, Isabel Fernández, and Isaura Souza, decided to embark on a new adventure and start their own artisanal cheese shop. Taking advantage of a space that had previously been a stable in the town of Ovín, in the municipality of Nava, these visionary entrepreneurs set out to renovate and adapt the space, bringing to life a dream that has now become a reality.

Artisanal and Organic Varieties

Quesería Ovín offers a wide range of artisanal cheeses, each with its own personality and charm. From the classic Queso Ovín de Vaca, with its semi-soft texture and mild flavor with a slight acidic touch, to the creamy and delicate Queso Ecológico, and the intense and aromatic Queso Ovín de Oveja, cheese lovers will find a true delight in this cheese shop.

But the real crown jewel is the Queso Ovín de Cabra, which was awarded the best cheese in Asturias in 2007. With its striated rind and compact interior texture, this cheese captivates the most discerning palates with its creamy notes and a subtle acidic aftertaste.

In addition to these traditional varieties, Quesería Ovín also produces organic cheeses, such as the Queso El Astur, following the practices of organic agriculture and livestock. Being the first artisanal cheese shop in Asturias registered with the COPAE (Council of Organic Production), Quesería Ovín demonstrates its commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment.
