The Fontona Berries

An Exceptional Fruit Farm in the Heart of Asturias

History and Tradition

La Fontona is a 2-hectare fruit farm dedicated to the cultivation of a wide variety of small fruits, such as blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, currants, and blackberries. With uninterrupted production from May to November, this family-owned farm has been harvesting and producing the highest quality products for decades.

Privileged Natural Environment

Located in the village of Tiroco, in the heart of Asturias, La Fontona combines centrality (less than 20 minutes from Oviedo and Gijón) with an enviable natural environment. Surrounded by palaces, ancient manor houses, crystal-clear springs, centuries-old oaks, chestnut trees, and birches, the farm offers visitors the relaxing experience of immersing themselves in the harvesting of fruits that, in addition to being striking in their shapes and colors, can be tasted directly, thus enjoying all the properties and the flavor of ripening on the plant.

Fresh and Processed Products

La Fontona makes available to visitors the sweetness of natural, high-quality jams, made exclusively with fruit from our own farm. But we also offer organic honey from the bees that pollinate our flowers and inhabit the beehive that, from an adjacent enclosure, guards our plantation.

Our fresh products include a wide variety of blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, and currants, with staggered maturation from July to October. All of them are characterized by being very low in calories and incredibly nutritious, thanks to their high fiber, vitamin, and antioxidant content.

Sustainability and Commitment

At La Fontona, we strive to cultivate our fruits in an environmentally friendly manner, applying traditional techniques and obtaining Organic Production certification. Our goal is to offer visitors an authentic experience, where they can enjoy nature, local gastronomy, and the warmth of our hospitality.
